A natural history film in the place we call home

Making a natural history film for PBS had always been a dream. Getting to make it in our own sunny beachside city was the cherry on top.

Working under the direction of Nate Dappen and Neil Losin, the team at Day’s Edge was able to make a 90 min film capturing some of San Diegos unique wildlife. From setting camera traps in the desert to filming ground squirrels in the park, this PBS special made fro some challenging and rewarding filming experiences.

The final piece is something we are all really proud of. Aside from airing on PBS and youtube, the film has a home in the Natural History Museum right in the heart of San Diego - with multiple showings a day for years into the future.
